LE Raun

Introducing LE Raun Sensors – Ultrasonic Displacement Sensors

Basic Principle: Ultrasonic displacement sensors utilize the characteristics of sound waves to provide a non-contact, precise method for detecting the state and distance of objects. By emitting high-frequency mechanical sound waves, the sensor receives the sound waves reflected back from the encountered object. By calculating the time or energy between the emitted and received sound waves, the precise distance or state of the target object is obtained. Ultrasonic sensors differ from ordinary proximity switches and photoelectric sensors. Compared to inductive or capacitive proximity switches, they have a longer detection distance. Compared to photoelectric sensors, they can be used in harsher environments and are unaffected by the color of the target object or dust, water vapor, etc. in the air. They are suitable for detecting objects in different states, such as liquids, transparent materials, reflective materials, and particulate matter.

The principle of ultrasonic displacement sensors is to determine the state or distance of a target object by detecting and processing sound waves. Therefore, the transmission rate of sound waves is affected by the state of the air, thus affecting the output state of the ultrasonic sensor. LAUNE Technology’s ultrasonic sensors have implemented as much compensation as possible in the circuitry to address various influencing factors, such as a full range of temperature drift compensation circuits.

To ensure stable and effective operation of the ultrasonic sensor, please consider the following situations before testing:

★ Target object surface temperature above 100℃

★ Detection environment wind speed greater than 60km/h

★ Operating environment at an altitude exceeding 3km

★ Sealed environment with air pressure exceeding 1.2 atmospheres

★ Operating environment below -20℃ and above 70℃

★ Non-reflective mode, detecting highly sound-absorbing materials such as felt, wool, cotton, or foam

★ Sound waves cannot propagate in a vacuum. The ultrasonic sensor will malfunction when used in a vacuum environment.

★ Detecting other unknown substances and uncertain application scenarios.
